Mullion Door Inserts

Request a quote

Art For Everyday Inc. manufactures custom mullion inserts for glass cabinet doors, interior doors and wall partitions. Each insert is made as a single piece instead of being assembled from separate joined bars. That gives it clean, uninterrupted lines and no joints that can loosen over time.

Choose from more than 46 standard mullion designs, ranging from classic diamond and Gothic arch patterns to modern linear grids. If none of them suits your project, we will manufacture a custom design, from intricate carved detailing to minimal modern geometry. From our Toronto facility, we supply mullion door inserts to designers, architects, cabinetmakers, millwork fabricators and contractors across North America.

Mullion Inserts Built to Fit Your Door Rail

A mullion insert has to sit precisely within the rabbet of your door rail. Our quote form covers the four most common door rail types:

-Type 1: Shaker Door Rail, Back Rabbet

-Type 2: Shaker Door Rail, Face Rabbet

-Type 3: Step Shaker Door Rail, Back Rabbet

-Type 4: Profile Door Rail, Face Rabbet

You provide the exact rail profile dimensions (A, B, C and D) and the door opening size (X and Y). We calculate the gap needed for the mullion construction, so the insert fits without trimming on site. If your rail doesn’t match any of the four types, upload a profile drawing showing dimensions A, B, C and D.

Choose Your Mullion Profile

Profile A (Ogee) has a soft S-curve that suits traditional, transitional and Shaker-style cabinetry. Profile B (Bevel) has a straight angled face that suits contemporary and minimalist interiors. Both come with matching outside rails with a rabbet, and both can be adjusted to match your door profile.

Custom Mullion Designs

Our in-house CNC machining and hand carving let us produce mullion patterns beyond the standard range: arched and ornamental designs, period reproductions, logo-inspired motifs and asymmetric modern layouts. Send a sketch, drawing or reference image with your quote request.

Frequently Asked questions

What are mullion inserts?

Mullion inserts are decorative wood grids that sit over the glass in a cabinet door, interior door or partition. They divide the glass into patterns without needing separate glass panes.

The whole insert is made as a single unit rather than from separate bars glued or joined together. That gives seamless lines, consistent strength across the pattern, and no joints that can separate.
