Make an entry door the focal point of the house with this solid wood carved door panel. A diamond-shaped recess frames a deeply carved vine leaf with curling lobes and veining, its stem sweeping down into a full cluster of grapes. Set high on a plain oak field, the single carving reads clearly from the street while the rest of the door stays calm and understated. The panel suits country, Tuscan, wine-cellar, and heritage entries.
Measuring 34″ wide, 81.5″ tall, and 1″ thick, this piece of wood millwork is built from edge grain red oak. Its straight, vertical grain runs the full height of the panel, giving a uniform face and better stability than flat-sawn stock. The 9″ × 15″ carving is centered across the width, 11.5″ below the top edge. Stain it dark for a traditional look, as on the stone cottage door shown, or finish it clear to show the oak.
This carved door panel was reproduced from a client’s existing carved door. Our team worked from detailed reference photos with tape measurements, modelled the leaf, stem, and grapes in 3D, and carved them on our CNC machines.
