Crown a door, mantel, or cabinet frieze with this solid wood rose crest applique. A carved rose sits at the center, flanked by rosebuds and leaves, while long acanthus scrolls with carved bead accents sweep out symmetrically to each end. The long, low profile is built for horizontal surfaces: door top rails, headboards, mantel friezes, valances, and cabinet crowns.
Measuring 36″ wide, 3.5″ high, and 0.75″ deep, this piece of wood millwork is carved from solid poplar and supplied as a paint-grade applique. Poplar’s fine, even texture holds crisp carved edges and takes primer and paint smoothly, as on the painted door shown. The flat back sits tight to the surface and fixes with glue and brads along its full length.
This rose crest applique was produced from a customer’s rough sketch, which set the 36″ length and called for a 3.5″ carved height. Our team developed the ornament in 3D, carved it on our CNC machines, and hand-finished the rose, buds, and scrolls. It was designed alongside our rose corner applique and rose center applique, each sold separately, so the designs can be combined on the same door or cabinet.
