Bring romantic, hand-carved detail to cabinet doors, furniture, and wall panels with this solid wood carved rose applique. A fully opened rose sits at one end, layered petal over petal, while acanthus leaves and a curling scroll sweep out to the other side in a flowing, asymmetric composition. On a door panel, drawer front, headboard, or mantel, it adds classic French and Victorian character without changing the construction of the piece.
Measuring 6″ wide, 4″ high, and 0.75″ deep, this piece of wood millwork is carved from solid poplar and supplied as a paint-grade applique. Poplar’s fine, even texture holds crisp carved edges and takes primer and paint smoothly, and its natural color variation disappears under the finish, as on the painted cabinet door shown. The flat back sits tight to the surface and fixes with glue and brads.
This carved rose applique was produced from a customer’s hand sketch, drawn to scale with only the overall width marked. Our team modelled the rose, leaves, and scroll in 3D, carved it on our CNC machines, and hand-finished every petal. The design can also be rescaled to suit a larger door or panel.
