At Madrina Bar & Tapas, every detail tells a story. Our custom wood screens were designed to bring warmth, rhythm, and architectural depth to the space.
Crafted from premium hardwoods, these elements balance aesthetics with performance, enhancing both visual appeal and functionality in a high-traffic hospitality environment.
Our team was tasked with fabricating the signature arched screens that define the bar and open kitchen, a project that required a perfect balance of heritage aesthetics and modern precision.
For the Madrina project, the designer required sweeping Catalan-inspired arches—broad, fluid curves that integrated perfectly with the restaurant’s warm, amber-toned aesthetic. Our capacity to deliver such a masterpiece is rooted in a sophisticated blend of digital engineering and artisanal finishing:
Precision 3D Modeling & Wood Millwork Design:
Every curve and structural joint is first realized through advanced 3D design software, allowing our engineers to troubleshoot complex geometries before a single cut is made to the raw mahogany.
High-Tolerance CNC Machining:
To achieve the rhythmic perfection of the louvered slats, we utilize state-of-the-art CNC technology that translates digital blueprints into architectural wood components with sub-millimeter accuracy.
Artisanal Hand Sanding for Every Curve:
While machines provide the structural shape, the soul of the custom woodwork is brought out by hand. Every individual curve and line undergoes rigorous hand sanding to ensure a smooth, feathered finish that maintains a “clean” and modern aesthetic.
Rigorous Layout & Quality Control:
Before installation, every masterpiece is fully assembled in our shop to verify that the architectural tolerances and visual flow meet the designer’s exact specifications.
Once installed, the custom woodwork screens became more than just a partition; they act as a wayfinding element that guides the customer through the space.
Integrated Lighting: The final installation features backlit art and warm ambient lighting that dances across the mahogany slats, creating a whimsical yet sophisticated atmosphere.
Function & Flow: By framing the 37-foot bar, the screens create a “beat and pulse” for the dining experience while maintaining clear sightlines into the open kitchen.
