Our Forest Stewardship Council Certification and What It Means

July 22, 2015

1.6 billion people living in the world today are reliant on forests for their clothing, shelter, and sustenance. FSC, the Forest Stewardship Council, sets and maintains high standards to make owners take proper responsibility of these vital areas. In any industry, attaining the correct certification for documenting your proper care of American forests is an absolute necessity.

There are a few other policies that certificate holders must adhere to, but the FSC US Forest Management Standard will represent a majority of requirements for FSC certification. In order to attain certification, the owner, manager, or overseer of a forested area can contract with a Certified Body that is certified with the FSC, or a Forest Management Group. The forest is then audited to meet all FSC standards. Receiving our certification was very important to us, as we are determined to make our contributions to the world as positive as possible. Our certification means that we are always managing our natural resources as safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly as possible.
