How to Use Your Corbels With Window Scarves

  • In main, corbels are meant to support other structural elements. However, there are also non-functional corbels that can be installed to support window scarves. Such corbels have a hole punched through the middle, which lets you hang your window scarf from them.
  • The simplest arrangement is to have your window scarf hanging in a symmetrical fashion from a pair of corbels, with one on each side of your window. However, other possibilities include using a single point of attachment, hanging the window scarf in an asymmetrical fashion, and even hanging multiple window scarves from the same corbels. Braiding multiple scarves together can produce particularly interesting effects.
  • You do not have to hang your window scarf directly from your corbels. Consider using them in conjunction with other elements. For example, inserting a rod through the corbels can provide additional attachments.
