Give a kitchen island or counter-height table a clean, modern base with this solid wood square island leg. A tall 3.5″ square block runs most of the height, giving a crisp architectural line and a generous joinery surface. The leg then transitions through an arched shoulder into a turned bulb foot with collar rings and a tapered toe. The profile suits transitional, Scandinavian, and modern farmhouse kitchens alike.
Standing 35.25″ tall, this piece of wood millwork is machined from solid rift white oak, chosen for its straight, consistent grain, so the square block reads cleanly from every side. The 25.25″ square section leaves ample length for aprons, cabinet sides, or shelf rails, and the 10″ turning finishes at a 2.5″ foot. Clear-coat it to show the oak, as in the dining setting shown, or stain it to match surrounding cabinetry.
This square island leg was produced to a client’s approved drawing, with the block length and turning proportions set to suit their island height. As with every custom post we make, each value can be adjusted, whether you need a shorter block for dining height, a larger section for heavier countertops, or a different turned profile.
Shown at 35.25″ tall, this leg can be customized to any dimensions, including height, block size, square-section length, and foot profile, to suit your island, counter, or table.
