Reasons to Consider Highlighting Your Crown Moulding With Paint
July 24, 2015
Paint has long been used to highlight the stand-out parts of the home. As a result, it should come as no surprise to learn that our custom mouldings can become even better with the smart and strategic use of paint.
Use these tips for painting crown moulding:
- According to the Ottawa painting companies, white is a classic choice for crown moulding, not least because it recalls the simple but nonetheless elegant impression of classic buildings. When used with dark-colored surroundings, it serves as a touch of light that makes them pop. In contrast, it is used to lend light-colored surroundings a much-needed crispness.
- That said, dark-colored crown moulding has its fair share of appeal when used with the softer colors so common in contemporary homes. Please note that dark does not have to mean either black or dark brown. For example, consider using a deeper shade of the same color as the walls to add a sense of depth.
- In some cases, it might be best to enhance the natural colors of the material rather than replace it. Wood is excellent for adding warmth and texture.
