Kitchens Expected to Get Larger by 2020
July 10, 2015
International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA) members were recently surveyed about the outlook of American homes nearly a decade from now, and some interesting results emerged. Design blog The Editor at Large covered the Crystal Ball Survey findings, explaining expectations for the average home in the year 2020. And although many designers foresee homes getting smaller overall, the kitchen could be growing. According to The Editor at Large:
“Eat-in kitchens are voted most likely to succeed in 2020. More than half IFDA’s members said it is ‘likely or very likely’ that eat-in kitchens would replace dining rooms, and nearly 65 percent believe future kitchens will grow larger, thanks to Americans’ escalating interest in home cooking.”
The kitchen has always been the heart of the home, but these days, its status is growing ever higher. Homeowners spending more time in the kitchen are remodeling to make the space not only as functional, but also as beautiful as possible, and there’s nothing like exquisite details to make a kitchen more divine. Art for Everyday provides kitchen designers and architects with beautiful architectural woodcarvings, including corbels, appliques, moldings, island posts and custom woodcarving to take kitchen design to a whole new level for homeowners spending more time in the space.
