Kitchen Design Essentials
July 20, 2015
At Art for Everyday, we create architectural wood carvings that help architects, kitchen designers, and cabinetry companies bring their designs to life in stunning detail. It’s no secret that high-quality woodwork can take a kitchen from boring to beautiful, but what are the other elements that go into the perfect kitchen? House Beautiful has a list of must-have kitchen essentials according to designer Mick DeGiulio. Here are a few of our favorites, but be sure to check out the entire list.
- Visual texture– Mixing finishes and materials, as well as architectural detailing, will give your space depth and personality.
- Island– This versatile, useful kitchen element is also “the social center of the kitchen.” Our turned island posts, corbels, appliques, and other wood carvings can help make the island a fantastic focal point.
- Integrated refrigeration– Refrigerators are big and boxy, and can easily dominate the design scheme. Integrated refrigeration hidden behind cabinet facades allows for more creative freedom in the layout of the room.
