Decorative wood mouldings, cabinets, mantels, carved ceilings and other accents are an important component of residential design. Warm wood tones can contrast creatively with a variety of colors and patterns on upholstered furniture, wall and window coverings, and flooring. Walls in deep greens, pale yellows and warm rose colors can enhance architectural wood carvings such as scrolls, appliques and rosettes that suggest a traditional room. The forest greens or paler green shades on walls can add more texture to the wood tones, bringing in a touch of the outdoors. Soft yellow and peach tones add light in contrast to dark wood. The pastel colors also work well on walls with wood staircases, mouldings and cabinets painted in light colors. Patterned wallpaper and upholstery can use many color variations and designs, depending on the room. Chevron stripes, floral patterns and plaids can add texture to the room when they are used in drapery or upholstery fabric that may pick up some of the colors of the varnished or stained wood. Contact Art for Everyday for beautifully detailed wood cabinets, mouldings, fireplace mantels, corbels, pillars, post and staircases for every home design in a variety of  woods, finishes and styles.
